Information for Haulers

Solid Waste Haulers:

Thank you for your interest in hauling organic waste for composting to our anticipated facility.  Please read this announcement thoroughly.

While our Grand Opening is planned for Q3 2013, getting a head start now will prepare you to inform and serve your customers next year and be part of the first wave of haulers bringing compostable waste to our state-of-the-art anaerobic digestion + composting facility.

When considering adding organic waste collection to your company’s portfolio, many will questions arise. Some might include:

Which of our current clients are requesting organic waste collection already? Which would be good candidates? What trucks or retrofits are best suited to accommodate the liquid content? How much are the tip fees? Where will the facility be located? Is there a registration process? What items are acceptable? Hours of operation? How much organic waste could we potentially collect today, one year from now, five years from now?

As we near 2013, we will develop a comprehensive supply agreement, hauler registration process, and finalized lists for acceptable/unacceptable items and tip fees. In the mean time, some of your questions may be answered by reviewing the content we have posted here for individual facilities interested in commercial composting. An ‘Interested Hauler FAQs’ sheet is currently being drafted and will be posted here soon.

As of April 30th, 2012, we are seeking interest from Solid Waste Haulers to transport organic waste to our anticipated facility. This will assist taking the first steps towards establishing a supply agreement with your company.

Please express your interest in supplying organic waste to our facility by sending an email to Ashlea@freestatefarmsva.com with the following information:

      • Your email address and phone number

      • Additional notes about your organic waste supply

We will follow up with you to arrange a meeting soon. A more formal Letter of Intent will eventually be established upon further discussions. In the meantime, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Ashlea Smith at 703-217-8594 or Ashlea@freestatefarmsva.com.
